Along with SharePoint Designer, InfoPath can also be used to customize the lists for SharePoint 2010. With the help of InfoPath, we can create different forms which can be published to the SharePoint site.

In Example below, we will create a form for SharePoint, designed and created in InfoPath. This will store the data basic of employee and it is intended for HR use. InfoPath controls can be used to create a form for SharePoint Site. These controls will behave he same way as they do in InfoPath.

Enter the Address of SharePoint where you would like to create your custom list.

Than you can create a new LIST or you can customize an existing one. In our case are about to create a new list.

Lastly, click finish to create the list

Once the list is created, now we need to create the form of this list.

Now once the form is completed, simple click publish to publish the list to your SharePoint site.

The form will come like thin on your SharePoint site.

Finally, we have successfully created a Form for HR department that will store the information of Employees. You can add more fields as required by the department. Hope this has explained the process of creating a List form in detail.
